After School Education and Safety (ASES)

The ASES program funds after school and enrichment programs. In AUSD, These programs are created through partnerships between schools and local community resources to provide literacy, academic, enrichment, and safe constructive alternatives for students in grades TK-6.

The educational component provides tutoring, and homework assistance designed to supplement in core academic subjects such as reading/language arts, math, and science. A broad range of activities are implemented based on local student needs and interests.

The enrichment component offers an array of additional activities that reinforce student learning through Music, Art, Golf, Yoga, and Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM). These enrichment strands encourage problem solving, discovery, and exploratory learning.

The Physical Education component provides a means for students to actively participate in outdoor activities.

Daily supper is provided at each site.

The After School Program begins immediately after the regular school day and runs until 6 p.m. daily. Student may be picked up between 5:40pm-6:00pm. Schools close at 6pm daily.

After School First Tee Enrichment Strand

The goal of the First Tee enrichment strand is to introduce the game of golf to participants in fun, engaging and exciting ways. The program encourages physical activity that allows participants to expend energy and have fun with their peers. First Tee instructors provide a safe and encouraging place where players feel excited to come and learn new skills. Being the best is not important, rather kids enjoy being with other participants, having fun, and being active while exploring the game of golf.

Each site will participate in one six week enrichment rotation. At the end of each 6 week rotation, a field trip is planned to visit the First Tee Golf Course and participate in several golf activities.
