Measure M asked Alisal USD voters to approve a $70-million bond for repairing and updating school infrastructure. It received a 73 percent approval rate on Nov. 8, 2016.
Measure M funds have been used for revamping Alisal Community School and Fremont Elementary, two of the oldest schools in the Alisal Union School District.
The grand re-opening of Alisal Community School was held Sept. 19, 2025.
The grand re-opening of Fremont Elementary School was held Oct. 15, 2025.
Citizens Bond Oversight Committee
A Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) is a group of public members who monitor the spending of bond funds and report their findings to the public. The purpose of a CBOC is to ensure that taxpayers' money is being spent properly. CBOCs are required by California law for public school bonds and community college districts.
CBOC meetings are open to the public.
