All Alisal USD schools receive PBIS recognition

Alisal Union School District is making history as all its schools have been officially recognized by California PBIS for their exceptional work in supporting student success with a PBIS seal of accomplishment. It is the first time all 12 schools are recognized in this fashion.
The PBIS seal award recognizes efforts to create supportive environments where students feel safe, an important step toward academic success. This achievement is a direct result of the hard work and dedication of teachers, classified staff, school counselors, assistant principals, and district leadership, including Director Diana Garcia and District Social Worker Rocio Quintero. The awards fall into different categories, and Alisal schools received them as follows:
Platinum - Bardin, Creekside, Dr. Oscar Loya, Frank Paul, Monte Bella, and Virginia Rocca Barton.
Gold - Dr. MLK Jr. Academy
Silver - Fremont, Sánchez, Chávez
Bronze - Alisal Community, Steinbeck
In previous years, several Alisal USD schools earned PBIS recognition, such as Creekside, which has now earned Platinum status two years in a row. Bardin and Monte Bella earned silver in 2025, and Fremont bronze. In 2024, Dr. Oscar F. Loya and Monte Bella received the Platinum distinction, while Creekside Elementary was recognized at the silver level.
“Our District is committed to building a positive school culture in every campus, and these recognitions show the level of commitment embraced by everyone who works with students,” Superintendent Monica Anzo said. “Creating a culture where students feel safe, connected, and ready to learn is paramount to increasing academic achievement. Everyone who works with our students, from cafeteria staff to bus drivers to our excellent teachers, site and district leaders recognizes the importance of school culture. Having all Alisal USD schools be recognized with PBIS seals of approval, for the first time ever, demonstrates how committed we are to that mission.”
