Now enrolling for Alisal USD sports program

The Alisal Union School District Sports Program is for students in 3rd through 6th grades at all schools in the Alisal Union School District. 

Sports and physical activities have many benefits for the body and mind. Some of these benefits include bone and heart health, decreased risk of obesity, improved sleep and better coordination and balance. 

But playing sports is important beyond physical fitness. When children play sports they are part of a team, which encourages cooperation and sharing, resilience, goal-setting and building relationships. Learning to lose and persevere is an important life skill that’s often acquired through playing a sport.

FALL SPORTS

Sept 17, 2022 - Nov. 5, 2022

The fall program includes flag football, volleyball, and soccer. The tournament takes place Nov. 5. 

Flag football: 5th and 6th grades

Soccer: 3rd and 4th grades

Volleyball: 5th and 6th grades

Games and tournaments take place at Monte Bella Elementary. There will be no tournament for soccer for 3rd and 4th graders 

WINTER BASKETBALL

Jan. 14, 2022 — Mar. 11, 2023

The winter program includes basketball for all students in 3rd-6th grades. The tournament takes place on March 11.

3rd/4th grades: coed teams

5th/6th grades: boys and girls teams

Games and tournaments take place at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Academy and Jesse G. Sánchez Elementary. No tournament for 3rd/4th grades. 

SPRING SOCCER

April 8, 2022 — May 20, 2023

The spring program includes soccer for all students in 3rd-6th grades 

3rd/4th grades: coed teams

5th/6th grades: boys and girls teams

Games and tournament take place at Monte Bella Elementary.  No tournament for 3rd/4th grades.
