Alisal Union School District Receives Statewide Honor for Communication
The California School Public Relations Association (CalSPRA), a statewide organization that promotes better public understanding, commitment and support of public education, is pleased to announce that Alisal Union School District received two Awards of Merit for COVID-19 protocols: safe practices for returning to school and La Cultura Cura in the Media Relations and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion category.
“It is extremely exciting to honor Alisal Union School District with this award,” said CalSPRA President Matthew Jennings. “CalSPRA members across California helped lead our school communities through the challenges of this pandemic, providing effective communication in the face of uncertainty and polarization. Now, more than ever, successful communication is at the heart of public education. This award-winning example is just one way Alisal Union School District provides excellent communication work every day.”
“The District is extremely honored to receive this recognition,” said Claudia Meléndez, Alisal USD Public Information Officer. “Superintendent Jim Koenig and all administrators strive to provide accurate and timely information to all stakeholders, and these awards demonstrate the efforts are not going unnoticed.”
CalSPRA’s Excellence in Communication Awards program recognizes superior achievement in meeting strategic goals through high-quality communications and public relations programs. Each entry is evaluated by communication professionals on the overall excellence of the entry. Awards were presented at CalSPRA’s Annual Conference and Awards Banquet on March 10, 2022 in Sacramento.
