The Alisal Family Resource Centers has partnered with the Alisal Education Foundation to create the Alisal Cares Fund. The fund was created to provide support for McKinney Vento families in the Alisal Union School District during the pandemic.
The first major donor to the fund was the Community Foundation for Monterey County, which issued a $30,000 grant to the Alisal Education Foundation to provide direct assistance to families. On Friday, the first families to benefit from the fund received a Foods Co Gift Certificate card. This additional support will go a long way toward supporting our families in need.
The Alisal Cares Fund is open to any member of the community who would like to support Alisal families. Donations can be made out to: Alisal Education Foundation, ℅ Alisal Cares Fund, 155 Bardin Rd., Salinas, CA 93905. Please consider offering your support, if you can, to the families of this community who do so much for Salinas, California, and the United States of America.
The Alisal Family Resource Center serves an estimated 1,000 McKinney-Vento families, who have difficulty finding permanent housing. With community donations, the Center has been able to provide thousands of farmworker families with essential hygiene supplies and non-perishable food items.
The Alisal Education Foundation supports educational programs for students in the Alisal Union School District. Every year, the foundation hosts an event to recognize outstanding Alisal USD employees.
