Alisal educators recognized statewide

Two Alisal USD administrators have recently been recognized by statewide organizations for their leadership and commitment to excellence in education.

Josh Harris, Director of Educational Technology, was named CUE Administrator of the Year. Since arriving in the district in 2016, Mr. Harris has overseen curriculum development to increase use of technology in the classroom. He is an educator who is passionate about bringing equity to all students through the use of and access to digital tools and the global community of learners.  In addition to being an authorized Google for Education Certified Trainer and Google for Education Certified Innovator, he is also a Raspberry Pi Certified Educator, an avid SF Giants and New England Patriots fan, and is an avocational art historian.

Dr. Delia Gómez was selected as the Administrator of the Year by the California Association of Bilingual Educators, CABE. She has served at Alisal USD as Director of Educational Services -- State and Federal Programs for the last seven years. She began her educational career as a bilingual teacher, and she has taught in all grades from kinder through 5th grade. Before coming to Alisal she worked for the Hollister Union School District for 13 years. She was previously named Principal of the Year and Administrator of the Year by the Association of California School Administrators. In recognizing the award, Dr. Gomez likes to quote Lisa Haisha "Great leaders don't set out to be leaders. They set out to make a difference. It's never about the role -- always about the goal."

Congratulations, Dr. Gómez and Mr. Harris! Thank you for all you do for our students!
