Consultants deliver Stakeholders Report to AUSD trustees
McPherson & Jacobson, the consulting firm in charge of searching for a new superintendent, delivered on Wednesday its Stakeholder Input Report summarizing feedback received from the community on Nov. 19 and 20, 2019. Over the two days, Mr. William Huyett and Mrs. Nicole Anderson held 14 different group meetings, including four individual interviews and one open forum session. They received input from approximately 85 people in these groups and an additional 133 people responded to the online survey (10 in Spanish).
Participation on the online survey doubled from the superintendent search held in March 2016. Time to receive input was extended by seven days.
The feedback received about the district is overwhelmingly positive. Our community is described as resilient, close knit, culturally rich and safe. About the district, stakeholders praised the Alisal Family Resource Centers, the commitment shown by all our educators, and the value we place in home language while making a strong emphasis on teaching English in school.
This report speaks volumes about the quality of our district and the hard work everyone is doing to ensure the safety and well being of all our students. Thanks everyone who took part of this important project.
During the board meeting, Trustees agreed on the format to interview candidates and the composition of the panel. A panel comprised of three teachers, three classified employees, two management representatives (one principal and one administrator), five parents (one per trustee area) and three community members. The names of the panelist will be approved by trustees at the regular Board meeting on Feb. 5.
The panel will hold interviews from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27 and Friday, Feb. 28. Those interested in participating in the panel can contact Public Information Officer Claudia Melendez at 831-753-5700 ext. 2002.
