Steinbeck scholar visits Alisal USD schools

David Wrobel at Chavez Elementary

Do you know how many books Nobel Prize Winner John Steinbeck wrote? And how many of those have been made into movies?

Students from Loya, Chavez and Steinbeck were able to learn that and more from National Steinbeck Center visiting scholar David Wrobel, who spent Thursday morning visiting Alisal Union schools. He talked to 5th and 6th graders ahead of scheduled presentations for the Common Read event of the National Steinbeck Center. Our students demonstrated how dynamic and engaged they are. They asked endless questions about Steinbeck and his life, and they learned lots of tidbits about the writer.

Thank you, Dr. Wrobel and National Steinbeck Center staff for sharing this resource with us. Our students were delighted with the presentation and the goodies!
