Turkey Trots set off Thanksgiving week

Students at Monte Bella and Creekside elementaries launched their Thanksgiving Holiday with Turkey trots. Early on Friday, Nov. 16, Monte Bella students walked to Alisal High School so they could run around the track. This is their 6th annual turkey trot, an event from their Positive Behavior Intervention Systems designed to encourage good behavior among students.

But it's not just the students who get to run. It's also the teachers and parents.

Nearby, Creekside Elementary students walked to Everett Alvarez High to have a turkey trot of their own. It was the first time Creekside held the event, the the littlest ones could hardly wait! They began running around the track even before the race began!

Thanks to the Salinas Union High School District for allowing our students to use your high schools.

Friday was our last day of school before the Thanksgiving break. Classes resume on Nov. 26.

Enjoy your break!
