  • Message from the Principal

    Dear Parents or Guardians,

Welcome to Monte Bella Elementary, a California Distinguished Gold Ribbon School.  This year promises to be another great year here at Monte Bella Elementary School.  We will be working hard and in order to ensure your child’s academic success, we need to work together. Our dedicated teachers are committed to teaching your children and helping them reach proficiency of the challenging but attainable Common Core State Standards.  Thus, for us to reach this goal for every student, we ALL need to work very hard, closely and together.  A great start would be for you to make it a goal to send your child to school every day and on time.  We will once again be rewarding those scholars that attend school every day and on time (No Tardies & No Absences) during the entire year with an end of the year perfect attendance ceremony.

    Trust and Student Safety

You will come to know this year that everything that we do here at Monte Bella Elementary will always first revolve around student safety.  Thus, we need for parents, guardians, and scholars to TRUST that everything we are implementing is for the safety of our beloved scholars.  We especially need for parents/guardians support and cooperation to help carry this mission out.

    Parent Involvement

A major aspect to infuse in our school culture in order to make Monte Bella a high performing school is high parental involvement.  There are many meetings that we must hold to meet compliance with state and federal regulations.  Having parents at the meetings is critical.  Thus, we would ask that you make it a personal goal to at least pick one of the parent groups and attend those meetings at least once a month.  It is in this way that we can make our school stronger every year.  Examples of parent meeting groups are:  School Site Council, English Language Advisory Council, Parent Teacher Organization, Parent Teacher Conferences, Parent Trainings, and Coffee Klatch with the Principal.

We will be bringing back the Parent Passport Program.  Parents will sign in with the teacher they volunteer with and their participation will be noted and recorded.  We ask parents to sign in every time they volunteer or attend a school meeting.  We will be offering parents and scholars end of the year recognition and prizes.

    21st Century Technology

We continue being one of only a few public school in the county that is implementing state of the art technology and 21st Century Learning. Every scholar from Kinder to 6th grade will continue to be issued a Chromebook. Our Scholars will be allowed to take home their technology every day.  21st classrooms are set up with high speed internet, document cameras, and surround sound speakers.  Your son/daughter’s teacher will explain in more detail all the technology that he/she will be exposed to this year.

Once again, welcome to another great year at Monte Bella Elementary.  I look forward to meeting all of our new parents and scholars and continue working hard for all of our returning families.  Working together, we can and will make a difference.  Gooooo Scholars!
