Multilingual Learner Success

The Department partners with school leaders and English Learner Specialists to ensure multilingual learners receive high-quality, language-rich instruction that accelerates academic achievement and language acquisition. Through coaching, professional learning, data analysis, instructional monitoring, and continuous improvement, we support schools in implementing effective designated and integrated English Language Development, monitoring student progress, and increasing opportunities for English Learner reclassification.

This work includes:

• Coaching and development of English Learner Specialists
• ELPAC coordination and data analysis
• Reclassification systems and monitoring
• English Learner achievement planning
• Professional learning focused on language development and instructional best practices
• Support for principals in implementing equitable instructional systems for multilingual learners
