Dear Families,

 It is hard to believe we will soon be completing the first 60 days of school.  The year is going very well with our teachers doing a tremendous job dealing with many changes and placing high expectations on our students. Our students have also worked really hard in the classrooms.  Soon we will be experiencing the breaks associated with the holiday seasons as they are fast approaching.  It will be 2013 before we know it.

 As the holiday season approaches we need to all sit back and reflect on those things we need to be thankful for. Here at Alisal Community School, I would like to thank all of our students and staff for a great start of the year.  Also, thank you parents for your support and to those of you that have been constant supporters and/or volunteers of our great school.

I know that many families have begun to make plans for the holidays.  Our last day of school is December 14th and our first day back is January 7th.  Attendance tends to dip a little during the holidays and so do grades.  Our students are accountable for their learning and every day is valuable, so please try and make holiday plans that do not impact student attendance.

As we continue to move forward towards the completion of 2012, I encourage you to continue your support of our school and continue to volunteer. We have an open door policy here at Alisal Community School. Please come by and visit/help in your child’s classroom whenever possible. It takes school and home working together to make your child successful.
