School Site Pumpkin Rules

 

1. Giant pumpkins must be grown on school site gardens by Alisal

     3rd and 4th grade students

 

2. No chemical fertilizers allowed (only compost permitted)

 

3. Giant pumpkin seed will be provided on March 28th to be used for this contest

 

4. Students must keep records of pumpkin growing process recording every week

    until weigh off on October 7/8, 2008

 

5. Students may use cameras, video or drawings to record growing process

 

6. Students must present a three ring (1 inch) binder at the weigh off process (schools without binders will not compete for the prizes)

 

7. Judging will include weight of pumpkin and recorded events (80% of contest on

     weight and 20% of contest on record keeping)

 

8. Schools are expected to keep their progress documented on the District’s website

 

9. Photos/picture/video must contain information of the pumpkin growing location
